These sports tests are designed to assess a candidate’s endurance, readiness for effort, and physical endurance, qualities necessary to perform any military job: swimming 50 meters freestyle; 3000-meter run; 50-meter run; pull-ups and press.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine have taken a qualitative step towards compliance with NATO standards in physical training, both on the basis of updated formal instructions and in field conditions. However, there are directions for further improvement and universalization. The main step is to study the practice of NATO countries, including France, which consists in abandoning the age categories of military employees and transferring the responsibility for physical training to the heads of units at all levels.
